"Hmmmmmmmm...." Chiasa tapped her chin thoughtfully. "I don't really care about having a buncha different powers. But if I can protect the town and Teldranis and still be safe...but what if...aaaahhh...Florian, I don't know!" She covered her eyes and shook her head. "This is confusing...I don't know what to choose."

"Just relax, Chiasa." He told her. "This isn't that big a decision, ya know. It's just a little darkness, and everyone has that already, right?" He asked her with a sly smile. "And protecting the town and Teldranis would be easy for you... You'd be able to stop anyone from hurting them." He told her.

"But...can'tcha teach me how to protect them without it? Y'said you wanted to keep the town safe. That's what you want...and you're a good fighter, so, maybe just teach me without darkness?" She smiled meekly back at Florian.

"But without the darkness, you wouldn't be strong enough... nothing compares to it, it's where real strength comes from." Florian tells her. "With darkness... you'd be able to protect them from anything. anything ever." He told her.

Chiasa tilted her head slightly, looking back at Florian. "You seem pretty sure 'bout that...and I 'spose saying no isn't gonna get me anywhere, you and Xerj are pretty serious about all this...doesn't really look like I got a choice." She shifted uncomfortably, scratching her arm. "Y'know, I didn't think this far ahead."

"You never do. But I've yet to see you regret a choice you've made." Florian told her. "Come on... I know I haven't exactly been the nicest lately, but you can't say I've acted that different from my old self." He told her. "I'm still that same guy who happens to like a pretty girl, standing right there. I'm the same after everything, right" He asked her. "And you'd still be the same cute spunky girl afterward." He told her.

Chiasa blinked as she thought over Florian's words. "You killed one of the townspeople and hurt Steele. You're right, y'haven't been very nice. And that's where you're wrong. You mighta been a big jerk to me when we were kids, but you never put anyone in harm's way. You didn't hurt or kill anyone. Or threaten to turn peoples' kids into Heartless. Is that what darkness makes you do?" Chiasa crossed her arms defiantly. "I don't regret the choices I've made up 'til now, not even coming here with you. 'Cause you swore you'd call off the Heartless from the townspeople and you wouldn't hurt any of the kids. That's why I'm here. Not because you think I'm pretty."

"I had a good reason for all of it. I even explained that!" Florian countered with some hurt in his voice. "Just because of one little outburst.... Well, whatever." Florian said, sulking and shivering at the same time despite his blanket's covering.

Chiasa glanced at him sympathetically and pulled the covers over him further. "I'm sad for ya, Florian. This is what you call power...and you're curled up like a sick puppy. It ain't right. If you were still th'same Florian I grew up with, you'd agree. But you're a different Florian, sorta. And...I don't think I like this Florian as much as the original."

Xerj cleared his throat in a corner of the room. "Lady Chiasa... At this point it would be best if I were to heal Florian with my own magicks, as best I can. I'll escort you to your own sleeping chambers now, if you'd allow me."

Chiasa hesitated slightly as she considered protesting, but there was little she could do. "...Fine. But stop callin' me "Lady". I'm not his lady." She stood up from where she sat on Florian's bed and crossed her arms. "Lead the way, I 'spose."

Florian looked at Chiasa, almost attempting to say something before stopping himself, his face a mixture of anger and hurt. "Take her to her quarters then, Xerj. She obviously doesn't want to be here, anymore." He said in a low tone.

"My apologies. I merely meant the title as a gesture of respect." Xerj said, noticing the fact that his saying of such caused Florian to turn away.
"It was not to imply anything." He said, causing the heartless guards to shift out of the way. "Come, I'll bring you to your quarters..." Xerj told her.

Chiasa hesitated in following Xerj, Florian's tone a little startling. She looked back at him, sadness creeping into her expression momentarily. "I'm here 'cause I need to be, Florian. Ain't a thing to do with want. You pinky swore to keep your promise, I'll keep my end of the deal s'long as you keep yours. If you don't, you're gonna be in trouble. Y'don't just break pinky promises. Don't forget that." Her arms were crossed tightly and stubbornly over her chest as she sulked, following Xerj.

Xerj guided her with a hand, heartless guards appearing to their sides as they headed for the nearby door. "Don't worry. The young master is very moody, but he's likely being affected by this sickness." Xerj explained as they walked through the darker hallways. "I think very soon you'll see him clearly, and not find him the jerk you've painted him." Xerj said with a knowing smile.

Chiasa hadn't uncrossed her arms, her lips pursed stubbornly. She glared down the heartless surrounding them as they walked. The hallways were dark and she could hardly see. "I dunno. How soon we talkin' here? Because he's been a big jerk for a long time..." She looked around the dark corridor anxiously.

"Quite soon." Xerj said with a smile. "He needs just a little time to be back to his old self, and then you will see his vision for yourself." he told her with a placating smile, the same one would give to an angry child while waiting for them to finish with their tantrum.

Chiasa glanced up at Xerj skeptically. "So y'think he plans to keep his promise then? Because he pinky swore." She loosened her arms and let them hang to her sides. "Then maybe he'll be more willing to listen to me, too." She relaxed slightly as they walked, looking around at the walls and doorways. "Where's my room?"

The two come to a door with blackened flames around it. Xerj gestured towards it, and the flames subsided. "Right where I left the marker... a flashy spell for such a simple purpose as finding one's way, but I've found good use for it. After you." Xerj said, opening the door. Inside would seem to be a normal chamber, though no bed was immediately visible from a cursory glance in.

Chiasa peeked through the door. "Jeez, where am I 'sposed to sleep, huh?" She took a step in to look around, scratching her head. The lights were dim and the dimness made her eyes sore.

"Just sit near the back there, for a moment." Xerj told her, motioning to a black plush leather chair. "I thought I had a bed already brought in, but it appears I was wrong. I apologize." Xerj said. "I'm afraid I need to go look after Master Florian, so I'll leave this door locked, that the heartless don't invade the room and harm you." Xerj told her, waiting for her to step inside before closing and locking the door.

"H-Hey! Wait-a-sec, Ultraviolet!" Chiasa pointed at Xerj, the nickname referring to his hair colour. "Y'can't just lock me in-" As the door clicked shut and she heard the telltale sounds of the lock moving into place, her arm dropped back to her side. "-here...rats..." She glanced to the chair and sighed, dragging her feet as she walked to it and flopped down. "What've I gotten into? This was stupid...Teldranis was prob'ly right..." She murmured softly to herself and curled up in the chair, holding her knees to her chest and resting her forehead on them.

A few moments later, Xerj returned, a bed with black blankets and pillows in tow, held almost by magic. "Here, this will be your bedding for the night. I hope it is adequate, and..." Xerj stopped. "I hope you haven't been given the wrong idea of myself or Master Florian from tonight's events."

Chiasa blinked and stared at Xerj, looking between him and the bed. "I..." She hummed, slightly surprised. "Huh. Didn't think you'd bring me a bed..." She tilted her head, looking up at him curiously. "Dunno much about you, but...Florian hasn't ezzackly proven himself. He really hurt people today. I had to leave my friend behind." She grew sad thinking about the events of the day.

"His ways may be forceful, but I don't believe he started any of it with an intent of harm. From what I've gleaned from his heart, his life was.... frustrating, to say the least. He acts violent, but in truth I think it's a way to fight his own fears." Xerj said with a slight smile. "As for your friend... I'm certain you'll be able to talk to him yourself quite soon. When I'm done healing Florian we'll prepare, and then we'll head to traverse town for a visit. Does that sound adequate?" Xerj asked.
