Educate The Masses

"Okay guys I want you wall to read chapter 13 of your biology books tonight, be sure to do the chapter review questions in the back of the book. And also remember to bring your books into class tomorrow, that means no more leaving your book at home for your dog to chew on, Dominic."

Addressing his class as a few of them got a few good laughs at him putting one of their class mates on spotlight like that he let them all out, hearing the bell he really couldn't stop them as school was finally letting out for everyone. It also meant he could finally o home and enjoy the lovely task of grading assignments for the kids, it wasn't a lavish live style but he enjoyed it none the less as he took his suit case and headed out down the stairs and into the streets, his home in walking distance so there was no reason to take a car.

On his way home he began to think about what he should actually work on when he got home, murmuring to himself as he pushed up his glasses.

"Hm, I could watch TV instead and just do it tomorrow morning, no no...now your thinking like a kid Nol, *sigh* guess I'll spend the rest of the afternoon tying to work on papers and what not. You know, I should be paid more for this, it feels really unfair to get less than a basic amount of money" He laughed to himself a bit as he was joking, well...not about the money thing.

Passing by a small shop on his way home however he couldn't resist heading in, it was one of his favorite places to visit, and ice cream shop. However they sold something other than ice-cream by the scoop, they also sold tubs of ice-cream which he planed on getting a nice big one for home. Heading over to the counter he began to look over the ones they had as he had his simple jacket draped over his arm and his suit case in his other hand.

Seeing the clerk come over to ask what he would like he gave a simple smile and pointed, "Hello there, um I think I will take a tub of your yellow vanilla ice-cream please. If you have an left that is." With a nod she soon went into the back to go get what he wished for, however as Nol was there with his thoughts he saw another shadow again off his glasses. "Again? This is the 3rd time this week..." he thought to himself, normally they weren't this frequent but they seemed to be increasing.

The woman soon came back with his order as he focused on her for now, the shadow he could probably take care of later but for now he had his own things to do and that was to enjoy a big bowl of ice-cream when he got home as he paid the woman and began to head out of the store. "Later I should train a bit, I need to get ready to actually face a heartless at one point..."

Heading back down the street he began to whistle a tune as he watched most of the kids that were just in school play and hang out with one another. It reminded him of his own childhood and how he used to always play and just run around with his friends getting into all sorts of trouble. The grounding part of those memories tended to suck but it was all in good fun really as he smiled brightly and was only a block or two form his house now.

Heading up the steps to his door he pulled out his keys and turned the knob, it felt good to be greeted by a nice blast of fresh air and just all around warmth of his small home. And not just this, he feel of a soft bed under him he would enjoy soon after but first he would need to put away his work attire and take a bath. Today was a pretty hot day and that normally lead to you being sweaty and smelling fairly bad too, not a great combo.

Placing his suit case down on the side table, his jacket on a coat rack near the door and his glasses in his glasses case he went over to the kitchen to put away the ice-cream. Also putting on a pot of tea, nothing like a big cup of tea to keep you energized and awake to the coming work load he had to do. "*yawn* I really should have a better constitution, especially for someone my age...." He said with a small stretch as if just waking up.

After a quick shower and some tea he sat down at his table, turning on the TV to watch the new's while he began to grade papers and last nights home work assignments. On the new's it seemed as if the same old things were happening in town, someone got hurt while being around the plaza last night however they were alive and well, he typical weather, and the mention of another sale coming to the shopping district.

What he found really interesting was the person getting hurt, the town didn't have a crime ratio at all, everyone shared and barely anyone would attack someone for no reason. But this person remarked on how she wouldn't tell who or what it was and she had a small claw shaped scrap on her left arm, h could guess that it was probably a heartless. Great, another thing to worry about when walking around at night...seems like the heartless activity in town has grown slightly.

Trying not to focus in on negative events he had to look for the positive in all this, tonight he would have his chance to actually do something to these creatures but right now he was happy to see that Tiler actually got a good mark on his research assignment. Now he just needed to turn in his science fair project that was months over due and maybe he wouldn't have a D any more.

Compiling his students papers together he was done with everything in less than an hour, much quicker time than he thought it would take. But he didn't complain about it, better to have your work done as soon as possible than having to do more of it later and feel bad about not getting it done sooner. Opening his labtop he began to look up a few things as he ate his small bowl of ice-cream, mostly he was looking up odd occurrences in town and where it was concentrated.

By the looks of things it seems that most of the activity or odd shadow like occurrences were located near a simple building near the edge of town around a forested area. Sounded like a pretty secluded place all in all and knowing hat he did about heartless they tended to strike at people during the night while alone and in not so crowded places, almost like an animal. Getting up after finishing his bowl, "Might as well check it out, see if anything is actually going on around there..." He knew snooping tends to go badly but it was better than nothing.

With the assistance of a small travel bag that was empty, except for a flash light and his phone he felt ready enough to go out and investigate. Nol actually knew little about other worlds and how to get to them, other than what he learned about keyblade users form some information he acquired a long time ago he was still out of the loop as to why heartless were popping up as he headed out and locked his door.

Walking down the street it was around early evening time, the sun was still up but it was around that time that the sun was just passing over one of the tallest buildings and being slightly blocked by it, if you faced it the right way. It left large shady area's around the town and to anyone it seemed like a simple day coming to a close, but to him he noticed that things seemed to be slower with less kids out oddly enough.

Heading to the location he looked up before things seemed to be remotely normal as he headed down the side paths of the streets and area's people normally don't go down to get to places in town. And by what he could tell this place was a bit hidden, not to many people knew how to get there, or at least just avoided that place all together. Which was odd in and of itself but he didn't bother about that, really he just wanted to know where all these heartless have been sprouting from.

Entering a slightly wooded area of town he kept slightly more alert this time around, he was sure that this not so crowded area would be where they might end up attacking him. It was in that moment of alertness that a shadow formed near him, glancing he quickly looked at what as forming in front of him, it looked like a small dwarf of a human however twitching and all around weird.

[Nol]

It had beady eyes and looked like it wasn't even from this world, and really that could be questionable but as he placed down his bag he got into a mock stance, ready to fight this creature. Rolling up his sleeves he knew fighting this thing was normally difficult for him but he felt like he could do a bit more than he was naturally able to do against one, this resolve only being proven as he rushed towards the creature.

The creature itself seemed to be physically just a shadow-like manifestation however as it jumped up and struck at his left arm it hit like something that was very much real. Using his other arm to block the creature's hit he used his other arm to swing, driving his forearm into its small body and flinging it into a tree. Seeing that it was still up after that hit Nol stood ready to keep the pressure on as it began to get back up.

Closing the distance between him and the small imp he seemed to try and kick at it, only for it to evade his strike and go to the left, the feral like creature then seemed to shot some kind of small black beam of energy at him. This was something he really hadn't expected as he tried his best to shield his body from the blast, using his arms to protect himself as the force blew up in his face and made him fall to the ground seemingly injured.

However as the creature got closer, thinking it had defeated the teacher he got up right away, well, not really got up, more like counter attacked. Using his legs he wrapped them around the creatures neck, squeezing on it now he watched as it began thrashing around as he used his hands to bind the smaller creatures arms. Knowing it would be a matter of time before it would die like this as this hold would normally take down most humans he held on.

Soon twisting his body violently to the left this would in most cases nearly break someones neck, and for a small creature like this he didn't know if it would work or not but seeing it vanish away into black wisps he had to guess it did. "Ugh, I didn't know they shot off lasers too..." He said as his arms hurt a bit thanks to the blast hitting him. Getting up he hopped he wouldn't have to face more than one of those things later on as he went along with his small adventure.

Taking his bag along he rubbed his arms a bit, mostly to sooth the pain he went threw, but he would be okay all together. It was just a few bruises after all, but he would make sure to be even more careful later on if he ran into more or just different versions of those kinds of heartless. He had seen enough heartless in his time that he knew they came in different shapes and forms too, leaving him to guess most of the time at what they could possibly do and what not.

"At least that proves they are around here, still don't know why though." Thinking he wondered about what might be causing them, he knew heartless were produced by people when they had symptoms of dread, but he didn't know why there was a sudden burst in number from them. No one had died or anything, nor has anything majorly bad happened in a while but they have been cropping up more often than he liked.

Taking a moment to look around the path he was going down he seen that it went on for a while but didn't just go in random routes, just a singular route to one location. He found this pretty odd as it meant this lead to only one place and with only one entrance as he might guess, this made him wonder about a lot more than just where he was heading and about the area he was going too.
