Re: Night of the Hunt
Teldranis's eyes widened as he sensed the change in his opponent. It's power seemed to grow even as they fought... Teldranis steeled himself though, especially as he realized that the shadows near him were converging. In a fit of frustration, He realized that he couldn't stop the attacks, but tried desperately to recharge his shield regardless.
The shadows struck the shield, most of them glancing or bouncing off as they did so, falling over.
Looking towards his opponent, Teldranis charged, using the temporary lull to his advantage, in an attempt to again engage his opponent in single combat, coming out of the charge before attempting an overhand chop with his right blade, pulling his left hand back in order to seize any opportunity that might present itself.

Re: Night of the Hunt
Jaixe howled as energy poured from the violet cracks in his body, creating a violently shifting barrier in the blade's path. Upon contact with the blade, the barrier shattered and sent a force against Telldranis, which Jaixe used to his advantage. Creating three orbs of shadowy energy around his hand, he launched bolts at Telldranis, backpedaling out of the way of any immediate counterattack. Furthermore, with all five Shadows alive once more, they struck at Telldranis from behind, catching him in a pincher maneuver.

Teldranis was knocked off his feet by the shield, but unlike the last time this was done, managed to keep his focus, unable to stop the dark barrages, but rolling to the side in order to dodge the shadows upon landing on the ground. Pulling himself into a sitting position, his position worked slightly to his advantage, slicing one of the shadows, though getting sliced in turn, and kicking another away in the same motion he used to get back up, before bringing his blade down in the third motion he made to disperse yet another shadow. Still, a claw from one of the remaining shadows nearly knocked his left blade into his own body, and he knew he couldn't afford spills like that again.

Re: Night of the Hunt
Jaixe growled as he went to charge. However, moments before actually doing so, he stopped, looking up and to the side away from the district gate. His attention was diverted by something, something strong and threatening enough to concern him more than Teldranis. Fortunately, Teldranis could still hear its thoughts. More voids. More empty ones. Mindless husks with voices! He growled and morphed, the remaining surviving Shadows doing the same.
No hearts for them. Nothing to devour from them. Empty. Cold. Futile. He spoke as elastic, white forms seemed to bend and shift their way around the corner of a far away building. Appearing in a bizzare, semi-solid form, they had mouths, but no eyes. No hands or feet, were entirely white and gray. They had a symbol atop their flat heads, but it was difficult to tell from the distance they were at.

Re: Night of the Hunt
Teldranis looked towards where he knew Jaixe had gone. "Voids? empty ones?" He said in confusion, moving to continue the confrontation, but a spark from his gauntlet reminded him of his current condition.
Teldranis weighed his options carefully: He could charge after Jaixe, but it wouldn't give him any advantage, and that heartless wasn't the only heartless in the district. If he charged farther, he would only attract more and more of the monsters, and in his condition it was very unwise... Particularly since these new creatures had power of their own.
Teldranis closed his eyes a moment, before walking away from the scene, his spirit deflated. Reaching the doors, he opened them quickly, before telling those inside to reinforce them quickly...

Re: Night of the Hunt
Reviving the other two Heartless Shadows, Jaixe performed an act he, himself, did not know he could do. Gathering dark energies around him again, he manifested them into a gateway, a portal, rather than used it to attack. Though he did not think much of it, the Dusks seemed to be concerned. Enough to warrant their immediate charge. Jaixe and his shadows sped through the dark portal as it closed shut, just before the Dusks could enter it and give chase.
