Thorned Guard
Thorned Guard
Name: Thorned Errant
Species: Nobody
Rank: Tier One
Power Level: 80 EXP
Controller: Xaldius, The Thorned Monarch
Appearance:
Weapons:
All Errants’ first resort is their spears.
The Thorned Errants carry barbed arming swords as a secondary weapon.
Their shields, while great for defense can make for vicious offensive weapons with the spikes on their front faces.
Their spiked bodies can cause minor to moderate damage if rough physical contact is made.
Abilities/Powers:
-Telepathy: The Thorned Guard can communicate with their master and other Thorned Guard telepathically. Thorned Guard are extremely well-coordinated with one another. Since they always communicate in this manner, they essentially speak another language all together and understand only very basic verbal dialect.
-Minor Contortion: Can contort their bodies in strange manners, though nowhere near the degree of other nobodies due to their more ridged forms and is usually used to aid in evasion.
-Rain of Thorns: Errants’ blades have a secondary use in being able to attack at range. Often raising their swords over head behind them, then swinging downward to do so. A single swing launches about eight thorns.
Bio:
Quiet, cold, and ruthless, these nobodies walk a path of violence. They generally wander about in small units of three to five and fight like a coordinated military force in order to compensate for their lack of individual might and power.

Name: Xaldius, The Thorned Monarch
Race: Nobody
Rank: Lingering Will
Thorned Guard
Name: Thorned Vindicator
Species: Nobody
Rank: Tier Two
Power Level: 150 EXP
Controller: Xaldius, The Thorned Monarch
Appearance:
Weapons:
Vindicators carry a spear with a blade at the end with many barbs along its edges.
Vindicators carry an estoc with a relatively long, thin blade that can be used for cutting, but shines when used for thrusting attacks.
They have a shield with a flat, mirrored face and thorns around the edges. It offers high resistance against magic-based attacks. It also instills a rather unsettling feeling in those that gaze too deeply into the glass....
Abilities/Powers:
Basic
-Telepathy: The Thorned Guard can communicate with their master and other Thorned Guard telepathically. Thorned Guard are extremely well-coordinated with one another. Since they always communicate in this manner, they essentially speak another language all together and understand only very basic verbal dialect.
-Hail of Thorns: Vindicators' spears are effective as both a melee pole arm and a throwing weapon. They can hurl these spears, which split into twelve thorns as it leaves his grasp. After the attack, the thorns will fly back to the wielder's hand and reform the original spear.
-Monolith: Vindicators and Conquerors are tougher than their Errant servants. They can take a few hits without flinching.
Advanced
-Through the Looking Glass: The Vindicators' shields have a rather curious property. With the mental link between the Thorned Guard, they can call out to the other Thorned Guard for help and summon them to the battle. They place their mirrored shield down on the ground, supporting it with both hands as shadowy figures form in the glass and begin pounding on it from the inside until it shatters. Once it does, the shield loses its mirrored face, barring any further usage of the summoning ability and greatly hampering its magical defense.
The usage of this ability can yield three different results in reinforcements:
1. A vanguard of one additional Vindicator, though lacking their signature mirror shield, and three Errants.
2. A single Thorned Conqueror, though lacking their signature mirror shield.
3. Xaldius, himself will emerge from the glass, though in this instance: any mirrored shields in the area will shatter due to the amount of force exerted in bringing their master to the fight, barring any further usage of this ability by any Thorned Guard. NOTE: This third option can only be accessed if the ability has not been used at all previously in the fight.
Bio:
Vindicators are the more experienced and skilled brothers of the Thorned Errants. They still carry a similar weapons set and share the same mannerisms in silent ruthlessness. However, their armor is more fine, they are more skilled, command the respect of the Errants that serve beneath them, and are more intelligent. They are the Lieutenants of the Thorned Guard.

Thorned Guard
Name: Thorned Conqueror
Species: Nobody
Rank: Tier Three
Power Level: 300EXP
Controller: Xaldius, The Thorned Monarch
Appearance:
"
Weapons:
Conquerors carry the looking glass shields that the Thorned Guards' higher ranking nobodies are known for. Those that stare too deeply will be filled with an intense feeling of dread.
The Conqueror carries an iconic twin-blade, a weapon with two blades on either side of a handle, and use this when the fight calls for a highly aggressive approach.
They carry a rather large greatsword with thorns at the guard that they can use both two-handed or one-handed in combat. They will generally use this when a more conservative approach is needed and/or simply need to have use of their shield.

Basic

-Monolith: Vindicators and Conquerors are tougher than their Errant servants. They can take a few hits without flinching.
-Faded Glass Armor: Conquerors' armor has a slight mirrored quality like their shields that gives them a naturally raised resistance to magic.
-Earthen Smite: By raising its weapon in both hands overhead with the blade pointed downward and then plunging either the twinblade or greatsword into the ground full-force, it can cause a single, large thorn to shoot up out of the ground under neath up to three targets. Just before the actual plunge/eruption of thorns, cracks will appear in the ground underneath the targets briefly.

-Thorn Tempest: The Conqueror can use its twinblade to facilitate a strong ranged attack. By taking it in one hand and hurling it in such a way that it begins spinning in a wide arc. It breaks off into twelve thorns and flies at the intended target(s). Different from their Errant and Vindicator cousins, these thorns have a degree of tracking, and will go through (or past if it misses) the target, then turn back to the target for another pass, and again for a total of three passes per a thorn.
Bio: By far the strongest and most intimidating of the Thorned Guard, the Conquerors tower over their troops and carry a commanding presence. Though not entirely self-aware, they are very intelligent and clever. They are very skilled in battle tactics both tried and true and unconventional. They hold the rank of Captains of the Guard and for good reason.
