Stranger in a strange land

Stranger in a strange land
Within the corner of The first district of Traverse town, sitting inside the dark alley, a Figure could be seen, resplendent in gold armor, sitting in a meditative position, it's blue eyes closed. The figure was obviously taller than the average human, and lankier, lacking a mouth and having a distinct blue-gray pallor to it's skin. For all it's grace, the figure's face appeared strained, as though having a troubling dream...

Indeed, Teldranis was troubled, though the idea of his current situation being a dream was only a fervent wish. Since landing on this planet, a small one by his people's standards, he'd had no form of peace of mind available. To His knowledge, he was the only one of his race to survive the black shadows overtaking his home and his comrades. At least, he hoped that mere death was all that happened to his honored kinsmen.

Re: Stranger in a strange land
Of course, landing here, the locals had taken offense to his presence. Humans, though nothing like the terran of his native... Universe? Teldranis had truly no concept of where and how far away the world he'd landed on was, but it certainly seemed to defy physics as the protoss knew them... The humans seemed to think he was a monster of some kind, like the dark spawn they called "Heartless" were. After he'd pleaded with them to see reason, not desiring to hurt them with his superior technology, they'd told him to "Just stay outta sight."
Teldranis had found little trouble following that order, for truly he had no desire for company at this time.

Truthfully, Teldranis did not know what to do. here, he had lost everything - his comrades, his ship, and possibly even his home, gone, and never to be seen again. He'd lost everything, and had not even the khala to retreat with his grief into. Since then, he had simply attempted meditation within this alleyway, attempting and not succeeding to find peace.

Re: Stranger in a strange land
Sitting there, he only just noticed a young boy rounding the corner. "S-s-sir, c-can you help me?" The young child trembled, his legs literally shaking, as he walked towards the being. "Everyone else says it's too dangerous, but... my sister wandered into the second district, even though I told her not to... Please, could you save her? They won't even let me try 'cause they say I'm just a kid..." the boy begins sniffling.

"please, save her! She's all I've got! she's all..." The boy begins sobbing, in front of Teldranis.
Teldranis had been instructed many times, of the importance of self-preservation, keeping oneself alive, as a warrior should. A true warrior would make sure to keep himself alive to fight another day. A useless sacrifice just meant you would be able to protect no one. Truly, it was utter ruin for Teldranis to go into the second district. He'd landed there, initially, and barely escaped into the better-maintained first district. What chance did he have, as a single warrior, against hundreds of heartless?

Re: Stranger in a strange land
And yet... He knew the pain the boy was going through, losing those you hold dear, a stinging emptiness that refused to be filled... There was no chance of Teldranis surviving this, and yet... and yet...
The boy continued to sob, as Teldranis stayed in his position. "So you won't help either! I hate grown-ups! I..." The boy's rage subsided into despair again, as he continued sobbing, no longer standing but laying on the floor.
"I will return, little one. Stay here, for I do not know where you live, for just a little while. I promise, on the honor of my race, I will do all I can to find your sister's whereabouts." Teldranis told the boy, only for him to jump back, surprised by the sudden thoughts. "You're talking in my head!"
"Do not be afraid. It is merely how my kind talks." Teldranis replied. "I'll have to leave immediately, to make sure your sister is okay." Teldranis said, "So you will have to be brave until then."

Re: Stranger in a strange land
"Oh, it's you. What do you want?" one of the guards at the gate asked, more out of fear than real anger. Both men held their short spears a little closer. Neither wore armor, and both seemed somewhat slight of frame - their presence was more to give an indication of defense, since neither were likely to be able to do much to anything more than one or two shadows. Still, it kept up appearances.
"I wish to pass into the second district. It is imperative you let me through as quickly as possible."

Re: Stranger in a strange land
"Heh, we won't stop you if you want to run to your death. Or are you just trying to meet with your own kind?" One of the guards asked, to which Teldranis narrowed his eyes. "I'm leaving here on report a young girl from here is lost. I will return when I find news of her whereabouts, or... her. Please remain attentive to the gate for the next six hours at least." Teldranis told the guards, leaving before either of them could say a word.
